Antique Victorian Plume & Atwood
P&A Mfg. Sconce Bracket Oil/Kerosene Lamp

Talk about a Victorian Showpiece
         Oil Lamp!!.............

Here is an estate Victorian Plume & Atwood (P&A Mfg) Sconce Bracket Oil Lamp that dates between 1880 (when they registered the patent) and 1906 when it entered the catalog.  (see additional information of history below.)

The lamp is in great condition, especially for it's age.  The bracket has been mounted on a plank of wood for display purposes and easily removed for mounting on a wall.  Complete with adjustable reflector, this lamp has an awesome aqua blue font and a very tall globe. The burner works and the wick floats freely up and down.

The burner has the Markings P&A Mfg ~ Made in USA ~ Waterbury, Conn.  This is the BANNER line of production.  (see history below)

The reflector is in good shape with some tarnish spots here and there (see photos) The bracket works perfectly and holds the lamp weight very well.  Quite solid.   The glass of the globe is real wavy.......just a beautiful piece of old glass.

This is a quality and commanding piect that you'll be glad to own for any collection or decor that demands a quality very antique showpiece!
(please see some researched history below of the lamp and the company)

They made gas burners, shade ring of all descriptions, filler caps, and just about any brass lamp part you could mention. Their burners included BANNER, a high quality DUPLEX, the MOEHRING and HARVARD burners often associated with finer student lamps, the HORNET, NUTMEG and ACORN burners often found on night lamps, and scores more.
